You couldn’t start a list of Aussie influencers without mentioning the lads from The Inspired Unemployed. They began their careers filming skits between Aussie and NZ, shining a torch on tradie's lifestyle from down under with comedy and dance skits that rely on the self-deprecating and joyous sense of humour that runs through the trades. Although they’ve put down the tools and picked up deals from the likes of Fendi and Louis Vitton, they maintain a dedicated following with their mix of iconic photoshoots, skits, promos and dance videos. They now spend their time switching between TV interviews, creating their skit-comedy prank show and regularly filming more videos for their millions of fans.

3. Tim Parker: Tim The Lawnmower Man

Handle: @timthelawnmowerman

aussie-influencer3-min
Tim, a full-time firefighter, became an honorary Tradie after transforming the wild and overgrown yards of Western Sydney. A certified ‘true, blue legend’, he gained fame due to his satisfying videos of lawn transformations and his “free mow Fridays”, where he would offer free lawn transformations to strangers in exchange for video content. Openly describing this swap for content as the 'best business plan ever', he's a great example of how, when done well, tradie influencers can do more than simply showcase their skills, passion and business — their media presence can become the business itself.

With a particular focus on new homes, Khalil shines a light on the state of inspections of homes - many of which are signed off despite less-than-ideal finishing. Connor, who previously worked as an electrician for six years, has now dedicated himself full-time to producing content for Garn, alongside his brother Declan, from a workshop in Garbutt. They have become particularly renowned for their "Every [Insert Trade Here] Ever" series, which exaggerates the stereotypes typically associated with different trades in Australia. Although, if the comment section is anything to go off, it seems there are attributes in common across the trades throughout the world.
